Environmental Award Supported and Sponsored by Syngenta
12 April 2006
Syngenta is the proud sponsor of the 2006 AGCSA Claude Crockford Environmental Award, which will be presented at the annual AGCSA conference in July.
Syngenta's Business Manager for Turf, Mr Sam Hole, said the Claude Crockford Environmental Award recognises superintendents and their clubs who have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in overall environmental best practice and stewardship of their course and its surrounding environment.
Mr Hole said sponsorship of this highly credible award was in line with the company's strong stewardship policies and favourable environmental profile.
"Syngenta is committed to providing the turf industry with product and application training, as part of its stewardship policy," Mr Hole said.
"We invest a great deal in research and development to ensure our innovative products are not only highly effective but that they don't have adverse effects on the environment.
"Our MAXX technology is testament to this. We've removed the toxic additives such as xylene and unfriendly surfactants and replaced them with low impact, environmentally friendly inert ingredients."
Mr Hole said that in a highly regulated environment with increasing pressure on golf courses to abide by strict environmental practices, the recipient of the Claude Crockford award must exceed standards set by the Australian Government.
"Syngenta is an advocate for environmental best practice and is in full support of the AGCSA's initiative to publicly commend those who excel in this extremely important area," he said.
