Syngenta appoints new Turf Sales Manager

Syngenta has appointed Matthew Holmes as its Turf Sales Manager - Queensland, Business Unit Manager for Lawn & Garden, Mr Sam Hole, announced today.
Mr Hole said Mr Holmes’ appointment is the latest in a series of newly created turf positions, established to enhance Syngenta’s service offering to the industry.
“Syngenta has a strong suite of products and services currently registered and in development,” Mr Hole said.
“Now that each of these new positions is filled, we can provide a more intimate service to our customers, while continuing to release innovative turf solutions and management tools.
“Syngenta is committed to providing a high level of service, support and training to the Australian turf industry and having additional turf specific staff on the ground will heighten our ability to respond to the market’s needs.”
Mr Hole said Mr Holmes joins Syngenta from Agrichem, where his most recent role was Qld & NT State Manager. His responsibilities there included key account development and management with distributors from Northern NSW, through Queensland and NT to Kununurra in WA.
Prior to joining Agrichem, Mr Holmes held agronomic roles with Wesfarmers Dalgety in Townsville and Ayr, and was also a field agronomist with Reinbott Farming.
“Mr Holmes has a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Horticultural Technology from Queensland Gatton College,” Mr Hole said.
“He has a strong customer focus and brings a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to the role.”
Mr Holmes will be based in Brisbane and will commence with Syngenta on Monday 3rd April 2006.
In addition to Mr Holmes and Mr Hole, Syngenta’s Lawn & Garden team is comprised of Dr Henk Smith, Technical Manager – Lawn & Garden; Mr Patrick Madden, Turf Sales Manager – NSW; and Mr Lester Snooke, Territory Sales Manager - WA Central South. The Business Unit is overseen by Professional Products Business Manager, Eric Brown.
