Overview

DACONIL WEATHERSTIK is an effective contact fungicide that delivers excellent protection for up to 14 days against Dollar Spot, Brown Patch & Grey Leaf Spot.

DACONIL WEATHERSTIK is different to any other chlorothalonil formulation as it contains improved wetting and dispering agents. These agents allow DACONIL WEATHERSTIK to stick to the leaf's surface without fial for up to 14 days.  In addition, DACONIL WEATHERSTIK is a finely ground formulation, with smaller particles than any other chlorothalonil containing product, resulting in optimal coverage.

Chlorothalonil is a member of the multi site contact fungicides group (M5 chloronitriles), has multi-site activity and inhibits various amnio compounds and enzymes.

DACONIL WEATHERSTIK has excellent protective activity, best results will be achieved when DACONIL WEATHER STIK is applied prior to infection.  When used in early curative situations it should ideally be tAnk-mixed with a suitable systemic fungicide, e.g. BANNER MAXX for Dollar Spot or HERITAGE MAXX for Brown Patch and Grey Leaf Spot.  Early curative dictates that application begins when conditions are favourable for disease infection and at the very beginning of disease symptom expression.

Chemical/Formulation

APVMA Code : 56777

DACONIL WEATHERSTIK is a finely ground suspencion concentrate formulation containing 720g/L chlorothalonil (nitrile).

Benefits:

  • It is made rainfast by its tenacious sticking ability.
  • Fine particle size allows DACONIL WEATHERSTIK to form a protective barrier that gives better coverage on the leaf and longer lasting protection.
  • Its stability in solution makes it a great tank mix partner.

DISEASES CONTROLLED

  • Dollar Spot (Sclerotinia homeocarpa)
  • Brown Patch (Rhizoctonia spp)
  • Grey Leaf Spot (Pyricularia grisea)

For optimum turf quality and disease control, use DACONIL WEATHER STIK in conjunction with turf management practices that promote good plant health.

Correct identification of the disease(s) is essential in selecting the most appropriate control measures.

Dollar Spot & Brown Patch

Spray when conditions are warm and humid, normally from September to March. Use higher rate and consider tank-mixing with BANNER MAXX, HERITAGE MAXX or iprodione if disease is already established. Apply at 7 to 14 day intervals. Under severe conditions spray at 7 day intervals. DO NOT mow or water treated area until turf or lawn is thoroughly dry, ideally allow 24 hours. Read more about Dollar Spot and Brown Patch in the disease discription section.

Grey Leaf Spot

Apply to leaf as a early curative application. Consider tank-mixing with HERITAGE MAXX or another systemic fungicide registered for this disease. DO NOT water treated area until turf or lawn is thoroughly dry, ideally allow 24 hours.

The best results can be obtained when applying DACONIL WEATHER STIK in a targeted preventative spray programme.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT

DACONIL WEATHER STIK contains chlorothalonil which has multi site activity, thus greatly reducing the likelyhood of resistance development.  DACONIL WEATHER STIK is thus an excellent base contact fungicide for targeted disease prevention programmes.

Ideally use DACONIL WEATHER STIK in a disease control programme, alternating treatments with  other fungicides having different modes of action e.g. BANNER MAXX, HERITAGE MAXX and iprodione-based products.

Apply DACONIL WEATHER STIK at full recommended rates.  Utilise management practices, which encourage healthy turf and reduce turf stress.

Tankmixes

MIXING

Thoroughly shake or roll the container several times to ensure uniform mixture.  Mix the required quantity of product with water in the spray tank with the agitator operating.  Agitate while spraying.

COMPATABILITY

DACONIL WEATHER STIK is compatible with BANNER MAXX, HERITAGE MAXX and PRIMO MAXX.  DO NOT combine with oil-based emulsifiable or flowable pesticides, unless prior experience has shown the combination to be physically compatible and non-injurious to your turfgrass.  This product should not be mixed with spraying oils or sprayed onto turf that has been sprayed with oil for at least 10 days after the oil spray.  Oils should not be sprayed on turf treated with this product for at least 10 days after the last spray. Wetting agents have not improved performance.  Under some conditions, certain surfactants may cause plant injury.

Tank Mixing Benefits

Tank mixing DACONIL WEATHER STIK with BANNER MAXX for early curative Dollar Spot control will improve the efficacy by acting on two fronts.  DACONIL WEATHER STIK acts as a contact shield on the outside of leaves, preventing new infections.  BANNER MAXX will act as a "clean-out" systemic on the inside of leaves to control any existing infections already estaliched within the leaf tissue.  This combination effect is synergistic and will enhance control.  The longevity of fungicides are generally extended when used in conjunction with a growth regulation programme of PRIMO MAXX.
