Overview

SUBDUE MAXX is an effective xylem systemic fungicide, that delivers excellent protection for up to 21 days against Pythium diseases.

Metalaxyl-M (Mefenoxam) is rapidly absorbed by the leaves and crowns of the plant, mostly within one hour of treatment.  Absorbtion through roots, after application to the root zone, normally happens over time and is facilitated by soil moisture.  It is transported acropetally (upwards) in the xylem.  This systemic translocation contributes to even distribution of the active ingredient within the plant tissue.

Metalaxyl-M is a member of the Phenyl Amide fungicides group (demethylation inhibitors), and acts on the fungal pathogen inside the plant and stop disease development by disrupting the synthesis of RNA and nucleic acids.  Metalaxyl-M can also act as a contact fungicide in the root zone on free swimming Pythium zoospores.

Metalaxyl-M has excellent protective and early curative activity, although best results will be achieved when SUBDUE MAXX is applied when the disease is still in the early stages of development.  Early curative dictates that application begins when conditions are favourable for disease infection and at the very beginning of disease symptom expression.

How to Use?

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW LABEL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BUYING OR USING THIS PRODUCT!

DISEASE CONTROLLED

  • Pythium (Pythium spp)
For optimum turf quality and disease control, use SUDBUE MAXX in conjunction with turf management practices that promote good plant health.

Correct identification of the disease(s) is essential in selecting the most appropriate control measures.

Pythium Blight

Apply SUBDUE MAXX in a preventative fungicide program containing fungicides from different chemical groups. Ensure thorough coverage of all foliage. Begin applications before symptoms occur when conditions first favour disease and continue applications while conditions remain favourable for disease development. Apply no more than 4 consecutive SUBDUE MAXX applications 14-21 day intervals per season. When first symptoms are already visible SUBDUE MAXX  should be alternated every 14 days with a suitable early curative fungicide (e.g. Chipco Signature). Read more about Pythium Blight, Damping Off and Seedling Diseases in the disease discription section.

Pythium Root Rot

Apply SUBDUE MAXX in a preventative fungicide program containing fungicides from different chemical groups. Water application in within 24 hours. Begin applications before symptoms occur when conditions first favour disease and continue applications while conditions remain favourable for disease development. Apply no more than 4 consecutive SUBDUE MAXX applications 14 day intervals per season.  When first symptoms are already visible SUBDUE MAXX  should be alternated with other early curative fungicide (e.g. Chipco Signature) and follow up with HERITAGE MAXX to attain residual protection. Read more about Pythium Root Rot in the disease discription section.

The best results can be obtained when applying SUBDUE MAXX in a targeted preventative spray programme.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT

In order to minimise the likelihood of the development of resistance, it is recommended that SUBDUE MAXX should be used in a programme with products of different chemical groups.

Use SUBDUE MAXX in a disease control programme, alternating treatments with  other fungicides having different modes of action e.g. Chipco Signature.

Apply SUBDUE MAXX at full recommended rates.  Utilise management practices, which encourage healthy turf and reduce turf stress.

Tankmixes

MIXING

Add the required amount of product directly to the spray tank and mix well.

COMPATIBILITY
