The Lakes wins at #AusOpenGolf
Congratulations to the team at The Lakes Golf Club; each and every hole looked fantastic as PGA Tour player and world number 60 Abraham Ancer took out the 103rd Australian Open last week.
This is the seventh time that The Lakes has hosted the national championship. Providing these elite athletes the unique opportunity to play one of Australia’s most famous layouts, in a serene environment on outstandingly presented playing surfaces.
Behind it all, the grounds team have been working tirelessly for months to prepare for the national event. With 25 greenskeepers maintaining the course on a normal week, this number was bumped up to 60 just for the event.
And Syngenta was there to support the crew, with a barbeque breakfast cooked by our sales team each morning, ready for the guys when they returned from the greens. Who doesn’t love a bacon & egg roll after an early start?
Paul Jackson, Business Manager for Syngenta’s Turf & Landscape division said:
“the appreciation you get for serving brekky after a 3am wake-up is the reason we do it. The guys put so much energy and passion into the Austalian Open, and we love being able to add our own small part to the day.”
Syngenta have supported the ground crew at the Australian Open for the last 6 years. And they’re looking forward to next year when the 2019 Emirates Australian Open will be held at The Australian Golf Club.
